Our timber window shutters are made from high quality Paulownia timber. This particular type of timber hails from the tilia family of wood, and has an attractive and fine texture. This means that the shutters, once finished, have a smooth, uniform finish. Paulownia wood is less likely to bleed, or produce excess resin, which can end up affecting the finish of the timber. They are available in in a large variety of different styles and colours.

It is also an extremely strong timber, and when Mortise and Tenon joins are used to connect each part of your shutter, the finished product is strong and durable. The only small downside to Paulownia timber shutters is that eventually over time they become less durable, as opposed to man-made PVC. For a stronger, scratch-resistant finish our wooden shutters are finished with high quality Valspar, 2 PAC polyurethane paint.
